“Villawood to Run-Awood”: Manhunt Ends After Airport Transfer Mayhem
What started as a routine airport run turned into a scene straight out of a crime series when Paea Teu, a 28-year-old Tongan national, allegedly decided he wasn’t quite ready to board a flight — and instead left a trail of violence and chaos in his wake.
According to NSW Police, Teu was being escorted from Villawood Immigration Detention Centre to Sydney Airport early Thursday morning when things took a very wrong turn on James Ruse Drive in Sydney’s west.
By 3:40am, emergency services were rushing to the scene after reports that two workers transporting Teu had been attacked — one stabbed in the face and neck, and another assaulted.

Not the Departure They Were Expecting
This wasn’t just any “bad trip” — Teu allegedly turned his immigration transfer into a bloody escape bid, vanishing into thin air after the incident and sparking a two-day search.
NSW Police went full “Where’s Wally?” mode until a tip led them to Eschol Park on Friday night, where Teu was arrested without further incident.
He now faces some of the most serious charges in the book: wounding with intent to murder, and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm — a legal double whammy with zero chance of a getaway sequel.
Harbouring Trouble
Meanwhile, police say a 24-year-old woman knowingly harboured Teu while he was on the run. She’s now out on conditional bail, but set to face Campbelltown Local Court on May 22. Safe to say this won’t be a date night.
